she rarely learns from her mistakes
I love rubber spatulas -- they are so good for getting the last bit of batter out of the mixing bowl or every last speck of chopped garlic out of the food processor. I have melted 3 spatulas in the past year because I keep forgetting that I cannot use them to mix things that are being heated on the stove. God knows how much rubber Chris and I have ingested because of this.

We have a similar experience in our kitchen, except it's regular metal mixing utensils being used with non-stick pans. So many Teflon shavings...
Yes, just this morning our kitchen thing-destruction took the form of me finding a plastic measuring spoon half-ground-up in the garbage grinder in the sink.
Oh yeah. I melt everything. My last blender, the appliance part of it looked like a Salvador Dali clock. (Finally I knocked the glass part off the counter and now I have a metal-base blender but I bet I will still get the cord on the gas range or something!)
